but I never thought I would look back on the laughter and cry.

Assertion of Rights

Officer, please understand:
I have the right to have an attorney present if you want to question me or conduct any search of my body or personal effects. I am not giving my consent to any type of search.

If I am under arrest, I wish to invoke and excercise my Miranda Rights. I want to speak with an attorney now. I do not want my personal property impounded, nor do I consent to any impoundment. I request the opportunity to secure my personal effects.

If I am not under arrest, please tell me immediately so that I may leave.

Always Remember, You have a right to remain Silent. If you don't remain silent it WILL be used against you in Court.

You read every day about people giving statements. It is your right Not to. Why incriminate yourself or others. Always exercise your right to remain silent

DISCRIMINATION ON THE BASIS OF CLOTHING OR CLUB MEMBERSHIP IS ILLEGAL

It is unlawful in the State of Utah to discriminate against individuals wearing "motorcycle apparel" or "colors". Article I, Section I of the Utah State Constitution provides that "all men have the inherent and inalienable right... to communicate freely their thoughts and opinions." Utah Code Ann. S13-7-1 et seq. (1953 as amended) provides that "all persons within the jurisdiction of this state are free and equal and are entitled to full and equal accommodations, advantages, facilities, privileges, goods, and services in all business establishments and in all places of public accommodation." Violation of this statutemay result in a finding that the subject business is a public nuisance, and the State of Utah may proceed to enjoin any business in violation of this act. Additionally, a violation of this act gives an aggrieved person the right to maintain a civil action for damages against anyone who aids, incites, or conspires to bring such a denial of Rights.

The United States Supreme Court has ruled in the case of Cohen v. California 403 U.S. 15 (1971) that indviduals have the constitutional right under the First Amendment to wear clothing which displays writing or designs. In addition, the right of an individual to freedom of association has long been recognized and protected by the Supreme Court. Thus, a person's right to wear the clothing of his choice as well as his right to belong to any club or organization of his choice, is constitutionally protected, and persons or establishments who discriminate on the basis of cloghint or club membership are subject to lawsuit.

Don't subject yourself to civil penalties and expensive and time consuming lawsuites. Don't discriminate agains people wearing colors or motorcycle attire.

"In this country, the right of privacy has always been deemed too precious to entrust to the discretion of those whose job is the detection of crime and the arrest of criminals. Power is a heady thing; and history shows that police acting on their own cannot be trusted"

MCDONALD V. UNITED STATES, 335 U.S. 451 (1948).
-Justice Douglas The United States Supreme Court
